Event Details

The latest Greater Bay Area initiative creates significant business advantages to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. Many companies are tapping into these areas for seizing the opportunities; however, the laws and regulations in China may pose challenges to new foreign business entrants. In this seminar, we'll share China's latest Cyber Security Law, its key requirements on safeguarding the national cyberspace sovereignty, the protection of critical information infrastructure and individual privacy data, and how it differs from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe that many people have already heard about. We'll also provide some best practices that enterprises should follow or implement in order to comply with the law.

Mr. Daniel Kwong is CITIC Telecom CPC’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer and leads in the strategic development and execution of the company’s technology direction. As a technology thought leader and an innovator, Mr. Kwong is responsible for driving CITIC Telecom CPC’s technology strategy with the goals to lead and strengthen the company’s competitiveness.

Mr. Kwong leads the set up of the information technology and development facility for CITIC Telecom CPC in research of the latest technologies, and operates the Data Science division in realizing customer behavior and practices. He also plays a key role in evolving CITIC Telecom CPC’s ICT business to respond to the enterprises digital transformation needs.

Mr. Kwong has over 20 years of development and management experiences in ICT areas and is passionate in driving innovations. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences on industry and technology issues.

Mr. Kwong holds the Bachelor Degree of Science from the University of Waterloo and Master Degree in Information Technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
