Get the chance to hear the confessions of business founders and investors. Not only about the secrets of unicorns and successful start-ups, but also lessons learnt from those who failed – talking openly and genuinely why their companies did not succeed.

Jointly presented by P&P, WHub, the Italian Chamber and the German Chamber, this after-work seminar will reveal the challenges of start-ups' founders and investors in Hong Kong.

Karena Belin co-founded W Hub out of passion for entrepreneurs and to foster the growth of the start-up ecosystem. W Hub showcases start-ups and helps bring their business to the next level by making meaningful connections to talent, other start-ups and investors. Since 2013, she is deeply immersed into the start-ups scene and acts as speaker, mentor and judge at events and organisations such as the Chicago Booth GNVC, Google EYE, RISE Conference, Tech Open Air Berlin, Techstar’s StartupWeekendHK and Poly U Entrepreneurial Mentorship Network as well as driving diversity and inclusion as board member of WOW of the American Women’s Association.

Ms. Belin holds a double diploma in business and administration from the University of Mannheim and the MBA business school ESSEC in Paris. Previously, she has worked 15 years for Procter & Gamble in various roles throughout Finance, Sales, Strategy and Management across Europe, North East Asia and Greater China. Responsibilities included product line launches, portfolio management, strategic business planning, organisation re-design and Gillette integration.

Mr. Raphael Cohen is the CEO and co-founder of Gobee.bike, the leading station-less bike sharing operator outside China. He is the entrepreneur specializing in the development, implementation, and support of new internet companies in Asia.

Mr. Cohen co-founded HotelQuickly, Asia's largest last-minute hotel booking app. He also started-up and developed foodpanda Vietnam, Vietnam's #1 online food ordering platform, part of foodpanda.com and Rocket Internet.

Mr. Cohen is fluent in French, English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, and conversant in Cantonese and Hebrew. Having lived abroad in 3 continents and travelled to more than 50 countries, Mr. Cohen always look for new opportunities to apply his skills with his international business start-up experience.

Italian entrepreneur Christian Secci has been responsible for the management positions across eight countries in two continents in the past decade, where he gained rich experience in working in culturally diverse environments, co-operating with people from all over the world.

At the beginning of 2013, he started a business venture in Asia with InPost from scratch, crossing three different industries: e-commerce, logistics and retail. Later he decided to set up a new venture and to keep developing smart lockers networks in Asia. He is passionate about identifying problems and developing businesses around the solutions. His specialties lie in international business, start-up and business expansion, sales growth, negotiations and partnership improvement.

Pádraig’s practice focuses on venture capital and related corporate work. He advises on the range of common issues for emerging companies, such as corporate structuring, IP licensing, equity incentive plans, and shareholder disputes. He represents both investors, strategics, and founders.

With clients broadly within the technology sector, Pádraig has represented companies within specific verticals of fintech, insurtech, regtech, medtech, edutech, and cleantech. Pádraig’s practice also includes assisting clients on licensing, regulatory and compliance. His experience has enabled him to advise clients on a number of innovative, complex fintech projects. He is at the forefront of advising on legal issues for emerging businesses using blockchain technology.
