ABOUT THIS HYBRID SEMINAR:

Breathing clean air and having a safe place to live is what we all call a basic need. But there is a threat to this that affects many people's lives here in our region: Air pollution and climate change is a reality that is mainly caused by excessive carbon emissions by different industries, transportation, and the generation of electricity and heat.

The chemical industry and also BASF has the potential and clear will to be part of the solution - as a thought and action leader for their own processes but also for many of their customer industries. BASF continues to be a frontrunner and pace setter for climate protection through innovation and collaboration – with a new net zero target for 2050.

Rethinking technologies and processes as well as energy supply is vital for this ambition. Sustainable product solutions support the downstream value chains in decarbonizing their applications and reducing their carbon footprint. With governments like India, Japan and Korea committing to national targets of massively reducing emissions or even becoming carbon neutral, industry needs to move fast to align with the new standard.

Carola Richter, President, South & East Asia, ASEAN and Australia & New Zealand at BASF explores how the chemical industry is striving for climate protection and links business success with supporting national targets of our countries here in Asia – and what it takes to jointly move the needle for cleaner air and a safe living environment.
