ABOUT THE SERIES:
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic causes adverse impacts on psychological and mental health. We aim to offer some relaxation to balance the stress amidst the pandemic by introducing classical movies with high reputation and value for screening.
In this Movie Appreciation Series, we will explore and analyse some international classical films through guided tours and introduce important trends in different films. Participants will learn about the historical development and different characteristics of film art and grasp the impact and contribution of classic films in the development of human culture and society.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Miracle in Milan, directed by Vittorio De Sica (Italy, 1951)
A classical piece from the master of Italian neo-realism, combining a fable with the dismal social reality of post-WWII Italy. It is a comedy, but full of social reflections and criticism.
Beneficiary: All proceeds generated from the Movie Appreciation Series will be donated to Po Leung Kuk.
Direct Donation:Click here to make an online donation to support the local grassroots community. Every donation of HK$350 will help a low-income, unemployed or person in need to receive hot meals / food coupons for a week. Your generous donation will enable the charity organisation to provide flexible and multi-faceted services to serve the disenfranchised.

Method of Movie Appreciation Guidance:
Professor Dr. Stephen Sze Man Hung
Ph.D (The Free University of Berlin) 1986, Professor Sze has taught at Hong Kong and Taiwanese universities. His expertise includes film studies, aesthetics, philosophy and sociology. His books include "Film Art and Society: A Social History of Film under the Mirror of Critical Theory", "Film Culture, Theory and Criticism", etc. He is currently advisor of RTHK, consultant, a film program advisor of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government, and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Docents.
