Achieving net-zero is a major policy priority for China. The country has made huge strides in this area over the past decade. However, while its goals are clear—peaking emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060—the path to get there remains far from certain. The unprecedented scale of the challenge: Peaking emissions in just seven years and then achieving carbon neutrality just 30 years later (in less than half the relative time of the EU) means that China will require all tools at its disposal.
Roland Berger conducted a Carbon Neutrality study along with the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (to be released on 25th May) looking at the role European businesses can play in China's race to 2060.
In this session, Mr. Laurent Doucet, Partner at Roland Berger Hong Kong, will share insights from this study to German Chamber members in a more "private" format, shed light on some of the main issues on the path to 'Net Zero', show case studies on how EU companies have drawn various successful path in decarbonisation compared to their Chinese peers, and identify opportunities for foreign players in China.
