Contracts and Disputes with Suppliers in the GBA

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) continues to be one of the world's most important manufacturing and tech hubs. Businesses are rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic but business risks remain. Amongst other lessons, the pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability of global supply chains and the importance of proper risk management.

For European businesses transacting with counterparties in the GBA a number of (legal) risks could arise. This webinar sets out to explain some of these risks in an accessible, jargon-free manner and provide practical guidance on questions such as:

• Contracts: How do I make sure my (supply) agreement is enforceable?
• Force Majeure: How should I react if my supplier cannot deliver during the current pandemic?
• Due Diligence: How do I identify 'scam' suppliers in the GBA?
• IP Rights: How do I protect my IP rights when engaging with suppliers in the GBA?
• Online Business: How do I protect my legal position if I mainly source through online B2B marketplaces?
• Disputes: What are my options in the case of a supplier dispute?

Our speakers will be Mr. Fabian Roday and Mr. Joe Scheu of Fangda Partners. Mr. Roday and Mr. Scheu are two German nationals who are fully-qualified as Hong Kong solicitors and specialize in China-related matters. Their working languages are English, German and Mandarin Chinese.
