In January 2022, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) published a discussion paper on crypto assets and stablecoins. In its introduction the HKMA writes: "The increased use of technology in the financial system, such as the use of distributed ledger technology ("DLT"), has potential benefits in improving the accessibility to and efficiency of the system, as well as unlocking new business opportunities to its users. One form of use of DLT in the financial system is crypto-assets."

At the same time, the HKMA also points out that it has been closely monitoring the potential risks arising from the growing use of crypto-assets, and reviewing the regulatory treatment thereof in the interest of monetary and financial stability in Hong Kong. What are the latest developments in crypto assets, and what are the potential applications for your business?

In this webinar, Stefano Passarello, CVO of Monx Team, will give an overview of how crypto assets are legally defined, classified, and taxed in Hong Kong, how the process of Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is regulated, and how cryptocurrencies can be used for business transactions and payroll.
