Three well-known Hong Kong based start-ups tell their story

A recognizable and loved brand is one of the most valuable assets a company owns. As a small business, you may be competing against big brands with devoted customers and unlimited marketing budgets. That's why you have to find ways to stand out in order to grow, with a solid brand building process of your own. It's key to build a brand, not just a business. This is what will give you massive growth and raving fans.

The Belgium-Luxembourg, Dutch and German Chambers of Commerce have invited three successful Hong Kong based companies/ start-ups for a panel talk: On the List, Chomp & Breer. Each of them has a unique story on how they managed to grow and become the established brand they are today.

They will share with you more on:

How to find your USP and build a brand around it

The importance of Social media (& influencers) for your brand
How to make optimal use of data

The panel talk will be followed by a Q&A session and networking drinks.

French entrepreneur Delphine Lefay Dultzin co-founded OnTheList, a platform pioneering the concept of independent, members-only flash sales in Asia.

After achieving a Master’s degree in Luxury Management in Europe and Asia at the Université Paris Dauphine, she went on to manage brands across Europe and the Asia Pacific in marketing, sales, and business development. Prior to setting up OnTheList, Delphine held the role of International Sales Development Manager for a Paris based brand FAGUO in her homeland of France and moved to Hong Kong in January 2015 to assume the role of Asian Sales Manager for Groupe Eram, an international group of 12 accessible, responsible and online fashion brands.

During her time in Hong Kong, she and co-founder Diego Dultzin Lacoste noticed a gap in Asia’s luxury retail industry – an absence of options for premium brands looking to manage excess inventory. OnTheList was established to fulfill this need.

Combining their extensive retail and luxury brand knowledge and connections - including expertise managing international distributors - she and Diego developed a unique, sustainable, business model that appealed to both brands and consumers; offering brands access to a wider consumer base and a more sustainable approach to clearing excess stock, while consumers gain access to premium products at best deals in town.

OTL creates a platform to encourage a circular economy by creating a good value proposition for savvy shoppers.

Carla is the CEO and Co-Founder of CHOMP, Hong Kong’s food saving app which aims to reduce how much perfectly edible food is thrown away daily. The platform connects F&B businesses (like restaurants, cafes, bakeries and more) to customers who can purchase a discounted Mystery Box of unsold food items directly from them. Launched in 2021, Carla hopes to reduce how much perfectly edible food gets thrown into Hong Kong’s landfills.

Before founding CHOMP, Carla worked in various F&B roles from banqueting to restaurants to the kitchen and attended EHL and Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland for her Hospitality Bachelor.

CHOMP currently works with over 120 F&B partners across Hong Kong, has saved over 3000 kg of food from landfills and has been featured in SCMP, NowTV, Ming Pao and earth.org to name a few.

Anushka Purohit

Anushka Purohit

CEO & Co-Founder of Breer

Passionate, proactive and perseverant, Anushka is a young entrepreneur who is also a polyglot, being able to speak 5 languages including Cantonese and Mandarin.

Anushka is the CEO and Co-founder of Breer, a food upcycling startup that collects surplus bread from bakeries and restaurants and uses it to brew local craft beer.
She has studied Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and wants to use her position to make a positive difference in the world, inspiring others to do the same.

For her work in furthering the cause of women empowerment and making a difference, Anushka has been awarded the Student of the Year Award by SCMP, awarded the Indians of the World Award 2023 at the House of Lords, UK, and was crowned Young Achiever of the Year in 2021 by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
