Event Details What is Blockchain?
Blockchain is a simple way of passing information from A to B in an automated and safe manner. Originally used more commonly in Bitcoin, many companies have found other potential uses for the technology. With the use of blockchain, many business entities based on the market-maker principle such as auction houses will cease to exist. If the transactional information for an online service is encoded, the fee processing middleman will be cut, and the need for the platform will then be eliminated.
In this seminar, we will give you a basic presentation of what blockchain is all about, and it may affect/help your business.

Stefano Passarello Managing Director, Coporate Services, North East Asia of Hawksford Stefano Passarello is the Managing Director – North Asia for Hawksford, and former Managing Partner of People & Projects (P&P). He started his consultancy business P&P in 2007, then the company grew from Hong Kong to 10 global offices serving 1500 clients before it was acquired by Hawksford.

Alessio Quaglini Managing Partner at HEX Alessio has over 10 years of professional experience, developed in banking, regulatory body, management consulting and venture capital. Before starting his career in investment banking, Alessio worked in the Italian financial services regulatory body in the market abuse department. Prior to that, Alessio was the Head of Strategy for BBVA Asia and Director of Financial Institutions at First Abu Dhabi Bank, leading the development of institutional clients in Asia. Alessio is also the founder of Arepo Capital, a venture capital firm based in Hong Kong and focused on investments in new technologies and blockchain.
