Dear Reader,

In late February, the long-awaited Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was finally unveiled in a joint ceremony by high-level government officials from each of the three economic regions. Behind the blueprint's rather unassuming title lies a wide range of development goals to drive urban integration and build a 'world-class city group' in the Pearl River Delta. In our top story, we take a closer look at the plan and what it means for Hong Kong.

Other featured topics include the HZMB and XRL infrastructure projects as well as an analysis on Hong Kong's pharmaceutical industry by our partner GTAI.

Please feel free to send us any feedback you may have, share your comments and ideas. We are always keen to hear from you. Thank you for your continuing support!

Enjoy the read and stay connected!

Which role is Hong Kong going to play? And what can German businesses looking to invest in the region expect? Here we take a closer look.

Did You Know...
…why the Graham Street Mural is so popular?
Not a day passes without people stopping and taking selfies in the wildest poses in front of the colourful wall on the corner of Hollywood Road and Graham Street. While certainly not the only mural in town, it is by far the most photographed one. What is the story behind its immense popularity?

The mural was a commission by HK-grown lifestyle store G.O.D. (Goods of Desire) to give its exterior wall a colourful makeover. Taking inspiration from the facades of old school Hong Kong tenement buildings and the G.O.D. design classic “Yaumati”, local artist Alex Croft painted the mural back in 2012.

The mural was not overly noticed until 2014, when Korean actor Ji Chang Wook came to town for a photo shoot and this wall happened to be one of the backgrounds. Leave it to social media and the rest is history…
